Ingredients
1 C cake flour
1 1/2 C powdered sugar
1 1/2 C egg whites (12-13 eggs)
1/3 t salt
1/2 t almond extract
1 1/2 t clear vanilla extract
1 1/2 t cream of tartar
1 C granulated sugar
Preparation
- Sift cake flour and powdered sugar together.
- Beat egg whites until foamy.
- Gradually add 1 C granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Fold flour mixture.
- Spoon into ungreased pan.
- Bake 350 for 35-45 min. (Tend to overbake if not sure.)
- Immediately invert on a wine bottle. Cool.
