Ingredients
3 tbsp butter
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
5 medium Macintosh apples
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter (soft)
1 egg
1/2 cup mik
1/4 cup molasses
Preparation
Melt 3 tbsp buttre in 9" round or square pan in oven while preheating to 350. Remove pan from oven and stir in brown sugar; spread evenly over bottom of pan. Peel core and quarter apples and place in pan.
Combine all remaining ingredients in mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Spread evenly over apples in pan.
Bake 45 - 50 minutes immediately loosen cake from edges and turn out onto serving platter. Serve warm with whipped cream
