Ingredients
1/2 Cup (1 Stick) Butter
2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1-1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Egg (beaten)
5-6 Medium Apples (peeled, cored and sliced into 1"x1" pieces)
1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Using a stand mixer mix together butter, 2 cups of the sugar, flour, and salt. When fully blended, add egg and mix for three minutes on low.
In a separate bowl, mix apples and lemon juice together well, then add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss well.
Using about 1/3 to 1/2 the streusel mixture, press into bottom of pie plate and up the sides to form a crust. Add apple mixture and sprinkle the remaining streusel mixture over the top.
Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
Best served hot with French Vanilla ice cream.
