Ingredients

4 cups diced , peeled tart cooking apples

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup dark brown sugar

1/2 cup oil

2 each eggs, beaten

1 cup walnuts, chopped

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups whole wheat flour

1/4 cup toasted wheat germ

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Preparation

  1. Grease and flour 9x13-inch pan. Preheat oven to 350*F.

  2. Blend all dry ingredients. Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl. Add dry ingredients, stirring gently.

  3. Pour into prepared pan and bake at 350*F for 50 minutes or until cake pulls away from sides of pan.

  4. Cool in pan on rack. Sprinkle with confestioner’s sugar.
