Ingredients

1 1/2 C sugar

2 eggs

1 C buttermilk

1/2 C shortening

2 C flour

1tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 C mashed ripe bananas

1/2 - 1 C chopped pecans or walnuts

Preparation

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

Cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time.

Sift the dry ingredients and add to shortening/egg mixture alternating with adding buttermilk.

Add the bananas and nuts and beat well.

Add to 2 greased and floured loaf pans.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until done.

When done, butter top of load and sprinkle with cinnamon.
