Ingredients

¼ c low sodium soy sauce

½ red onion, sliced

1 tbsp garlic, minced

1½ lb top sirloin steak, sliced 1 inch thick

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp ginger, minced

4 c broccoli florets, fresh or frozen

½ cup dry brown rice (optional)

Preparation

  1. Bring 2 quarts of water to boil
  2. Meanwhile, heat a small bit of soy sauce in a large sauté pan, add the onions and garlic and sauté until opaque
  3. Add beef and sauté, turning often, for 7-10 minutes
  4. Stir together the oil, vinegar and ginger and add to the sauté mixture
  5. Blanch the broccoli in boiling water (or microwave for 2 minutes) and add to the meat mixture and keep warm
  6. Prepare brown rice according to box, then toss with beef and broccoli and serve.
