Ingredients
10 Beurre Bosc Pears
1 bottle of red wine
4 tea bags of Good Earth Original Spice Tea
1 cup sugar
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Preparation
- Peel pears and set aside.
- In a pan large enough for to hold the pears in a single layer, bring the wine, tea bags and sugar to a simmer.
- Place the pears in the pan and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Turn the pears and simmer another 45 minutes.
- When the pears are tender, remove from the pan.
- Reduce the wine mixture till slightly thickened.
- Cut pears in half lengthwise and place two halves on a scoop of ice cream. (Pears may be prepared in advance and reheated prior to serving.)
- Drizzle remaining wine sauce on pears and serve.
