Ingredients

10 Beurre Bosc Pears

1 bottle of red wine

4 tea bags of Good Earth Original Spice Tea

1 cup sugar

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Preparation

  1. Peel pears and set aside.
  2. In a pan large enough for to hold the pears in a single layer, bring the wine, tea bags and sugar to a simmer.
  3. Place the pears in the pan and simmer for 45 minutes.
  4. Turn the pears and simmer another 45 minutes.
  5. When the pears are tender, remove from the pan.
  6. Reduce the wine mixture till slightly thickened.
  7. Cut pears in half lengthwise and place two halves on a scoop of ice cream. (Pears may be prepared in advance and reheated prior to serving.)
  8. Drizzle remaining wine sauce on pears and serve.
