Ingredients
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temp plus (75-80 degrees)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
8 oz flour
4 oz whole wheat flour
4 oz oatmeal
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt (more or less according to preferences)
Preparation
Pre-heat oven to 375F Cream sugar and butter Add brown sugar, blend thoroughly Blend in vanilla Blend in eggs, 1 at a time, until batter is consistent
Sift together the flours and baking soda, discarding the larger pieces (wheat germ) Fold flour into batter, add salt Blend well Add oatmeal, blend Add chocolate chips, blend just enough to distribute well
Using ice cream scoop, space 12 scoops evenly on “half” baking sheet Bake cookies, one sheet at a time, 11 mins or just until beginning to brown Cool cookies 4-5 mins on rack before removing to cool completely
