Ingredients
1 bag caramels
1 5-fl oz can evaporated milk
1 package German Chocolate cake mix
½ cup margarine, melted
6 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk over low heat, stirring until smooth. Combine remaining evaporated milk (1/4 cup), cake mix, and margarine; mix well. Press ½ of cake mixture onto bottom of ungreased 13x9 baking pan. Bake at 350 for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over crust and drizzle with caramel mixture. Top with teaspoons of remaining cake mixture and press gently into caramel mixture. Bake at 350 for 18-20 minutes. Cool slightly, then chill and cut into bars.
