Ingredients

2 tablespoons oil

1/2 cup finely chopped onions

1 teaspoon minced garlic

2 teaspoons curry powder

1 cup catsup

1 pound ground beef

1/2 pound ground pork

1/2 pound ground veal

1/4 cup low fat milk

3 tablespoons chopped parsley

1 egg, beaten

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

8 onion buns

Preparation

  1. In a small skillet, heat the oil and add the onion and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes and chill.
  2. Wipe out the small skillet used above and toast the curry powder over medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Stir in catsup until heated through. Remove from the heat, cover and chill until ready to serve.
  3. In a large bowl, combine chilled onion and garlic mixture, ground meats, milk, parsley, egg, salt and pepper. Shape into eight 3/4 inch thick patties.
  4. Grill 11 to 12 minutes or until medium, turning once halfway through grilling time.
