Ingredients
1/2 hothouse cucumber, sliced into rounds
1 (750ml) bottle vodka
2 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded and cut into quarters
Preparation
Put the cucumber slices into a clean glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Pour in the vodka. Seal the jar and store it in a cool, dark place, like the back of a closet, for 10 days, shaking occasionally. Add the jalapeno slices and let the vodka rest for 2 more days.
Line a fine mesh sieve with cheesecloth. Pour the vodka through the sieve and into a large pitcher. Discard the cucumber and jalapeno slices. Transfer the vodka to 1 large or several small bottles. It will keep for a year in a cool, dark place.
