Ingredients
3 cups flour; all purpose or bread
1 pkg yeast or 1 T instant yeast
1 cup warm water
1 stick (4 oz) melted butter
1/4 tsp salt
Preparation
Mix flour, salt and yeast, if using instant. (If using pkg yeast: proof in 1/4 c of the water.)
Add water then butter.
Mix in mixer with dough hook until dough comes together and is elastic and smooth.
Knead briefly to shape and let rest in oiled bowl or covered with plastic until risen. Generally does not double.
Shape as desired. Let rise for 15-20 minutes, bake at 350 until done.
Can be done by hand: after combining ingredients knead on floured board until smooth and elastic.
