Ingredients
3 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
12 tbsp. butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1 2/3 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup dark molasses
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. grated lemon peel
Preparation
Beat on medium speed until fluffy and well blended 12 Tbsp. butter (1 1/2 sticks) 1 2/3 cup sugar
add and beat until well combined 2 large eggs 1/2 cup dark molasses 2 tsp. lemon juice 1/4 tsp. grated lemon zest
Pull of pieces of dough and roll into 1 inch balls. Space 1.5" apart on baking sheets and pat down slightly to flatten
bake 10 - 13 minutes at 350 makes 6 dozen
