Ingredients
4 cups flour
5 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
9 ounces warm water
1 package yeast
1 package vegetable oil
Preparation
- Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the water, then add the flour and salt.
- Coat the dough ball with a thin layer of oil.
- Cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm, dry place for 1 hour.
- Punch down and let rise again for 1 hour.
- Knead on a floured surface by pressing the heel of your hand int he center of the dough, then folding it in half, and repeating.
- Divide in half, and roll one portion with a rolling pin.
- Tightly roll up the flattened dough, and knead the rolling portion gently as you roll it up to get air bubbles out.
- Let rise for 1 hour.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until the top is golden brown and hollow sounding.
- Allow to cool before serving.
