Ingredients

4 T butter, oil, or shortening

5 T sugar

1 c milk

1 egg

1 package yeast

1/2 t salt

1/4 c warm water

flour

Preparation

Scald milk but do not boil. Add sugar and butter. Cool.

When milk is below 120 degrees, mix in egg.

Mix yeast with warm water. Add to milk mixture along with salt.

Stir in flour until mixture can’t take any more. Let rise once, then punch down. Form into rolls and let rise again. Bake until done.
