Ingredients

1 pound fresh green beans

1 Tablespoon olive oil

1 cup chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, crushed

1 (14 1/4-ounce) can whole tomatoes, drained and chopped

1/3 cup dry red wine

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

  1. Wash beans; trim ends, and remove strings. Arrange beans in a vegetables steamer over boiling water. Cover and steam 5 minutes or until crisp-tender. Set aside, and keep warm.

  2. Heat oil in a Large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add onion and garlic; cook until tender. Add tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; add beans, tossing well to combine.
