Ingredients

Cheddar cheese 8oz (shredded)

Salt 1 tsp

Butter unsalted 4 tbsp (softened)

All purpose flour 1 cup

Ice water as required

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 180 degree C. and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a bowl mix cheddar cheese, ½ tsp salt and the softened butter.

Add gradually all purpose flour and mix until dough forms like little fluffy clumps.

While mixing adds ice water and mix until a soft dough forms.

Divide the dough into 2 portions and form into a disk shape and wrap in plastic. Keep in refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes.

Roll the dough on floured surface into about 1/8 inches thick.

Cut the dough into 1 inch squares with help of pastry cutter.

Shift cheez-its onto the parchment paper, using a toothpick make a hole in the center of each square then sprinkle rest of the salt on top.

Bake for about 7 - 10 minutes or until they have puffed up and the edges begin to brown. Let cool before eating.
