Ingredients
1 1/2 lb ground beef (chuck)
1 medium onion chopped
2 Tbsp butter
6 oz can tomato paste
1/2 package lasagne noodles
1 lb small curd cottage cheese
2-3 cups shredded mozzarella/asiago cheese
12 slices provolone cheese
1/4 cup chopped celery
1 clove garlic, minced
16 oz fire roasted crushed tomatoes
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
1 bay leaf
1/3 cu Parmesan cheese
Preparation
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees
Fry celery, onion, garlic in butter until tender. Add meat. Brown. Pour off excess fat.
Add tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper, oregano, bay leaf and clook slowly 20 min
Meanwhile, boil/rinse noodles
Remove bay leaf. Add cottage cheese. Stir and bring to a boil.
Layer in 9X13 baking dish noodles, 1/2 meat sauce, provolone cheese, 1/2 mozzarella/asiago cheese, noodles, meat sauce, provolone cheese, mozzarella/asiago cheese and Parmesan cheese.
Cover with foil. Cook 20-25 minutes. Uncover and cook until golden and bubbly (total 30-45 minutes).
