Ingredients
1/3 c shortening
1/3 c sugar
1 egg
2/3 c honey
1 t lemon flavor
2 3/4 c flour
1 t salt
1 t baking soda
Icing:
almond flavoring to taste (1-2 tsp, usually)
milk
powdered sugar frosting
sprinkles for decor!
Preparation
Mix together shortening and sugar
Add in egg, honey and lemon flavor
Once the above is combined and smooth, add in flour, salt and baking soda
cover, place in fridge for 2-3 hours roll out to 1/4" dough cut shapes
bake 375 degrees 8-10 minutes
Ice with almond flavoring, milk and powdered sugar frosting - for a double recipe of cookies, I usually use one bag of powdered sugar combined with just enough milk to make the icing smooth (not too drippy!)
Then add sprinkles for decoration!
