Ingredients

4 lbs. beef, roasted and chopped

1 jar mincemeat or 2 lbs beef suet

2 lbs. sugar

1 cup raisins (original recipe calls for 2 lbs.)

1 cup currents (original recipe calls for 2 lbs.)

2 lbs. apples, chopped fine (original recipe calls for 4 lbs.)

1/2 lb. citron, minced

1/2 lb. candied lemon peel, minced

Grated rind 2 oranges

Grated rind 1 lemon

1 nutmeg, grated

1 T cloves

1 T cinnamon

1 t salt

1/2 cup orange juice

1/2 cup lemon juice

4 cups hard cider

2 cups brandy

Preparation

Boil meat and suet (or jar mincemeat) together til tender and grind. Combine all ingredients except brandy and cook 1 1/2 hours. Add liquor and pour in sterile jars and seal.
