Ingredients

1/2 cup butter or light margarine

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp. baking powder

I tsp. baking soda

pinch salt

200g chocolate chips (or more) - 1/2 pkg/1 cup appx

1 1/4 cup rolled oats

3/4 cup shredded coconut

3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Preparation

Cream butter and add sugars, beating until smooth. Add in egg and beat until well blended. Sift flour, bp, bs and salt and add gradually to creamed mixture. Fold in chocolate chips, coconut, oats and nuts.

Drop a teaspoon, 2" apart onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake @ 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Recipe doubles easily.
