Ingredients

four tomatoes sliced in 1/2’ slices

one large red onion thinly sliced

1 T brown sugar

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

1 T minced fresh basil

1/2 t salt (optional)

freshly ground pepperc

Preparation

Cut tomato slices and place overlapping slices on a plate or shallow dish.

Layer thinly sliced onion on top of tomato slices.

Whisk together remaining ingredients except basil.

Pour over tomatoes and onions.

Marinate for 1 1/2 - two hours.

Sprinkle basil on top and serve.
