Ingredients
1 lb potatoes
1 onion, diced
1 tablespoon oil or butter
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro plus extra for garnish
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Preparation
Peel potatoes and cut in quarters lengthwise. Saute onions and cilantro in oil or butter until soft and golden. Add turmeric, salt and chili powder and stir for a few moments. Add potatoes and stir until well covered with spices. Cover and put into a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and add garam masala and lemon juice, sitr and bake ten more minutes or until potatoes are tender. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
