Ingredients
Filling:
8 large peaches
1 c. Sugar
1 T. Lemon juice
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
Topping:
1 1/2 c. White flour
4 tsp. Sugar
1 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
9 T. Butter
1/2 c. Evaporated milk
1/4 c. Water
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350. Peel and slice peaches. Mix with sugar, lemon juice and spices. Cover and macerate while preparing topping. Sift together dry ingredients and cut in butter. Mix in milk and enough water to make a moist dough. Spread filling in buttered 9x13 pan. Spoon topping evenly over all. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
