Ingredients

1 bag Hershey’s kisses

1/2 c. shortening

3/4 c. creamy peanut butter

1/3 c. granulated sugar

1/3 c. packed light brown sugar

1 egg

2 Tbls. milk

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 1/2 c. flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Remove wrappers from Hershey’s kisses.

Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended. Add sugars; beat until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.

Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into peanut butter mixture.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately press a Hershey’s kiss into center of each cookie. Cookie will crack around the edges.

Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack and cool completely.
