Ingredients

beef or pork steak, cubed

1 medium onion, chopped

celery ticks,

parsley

peas

1 cup barley

2 cloves garlic, minced

ginger (optional)

1 large potato, cubed

carrots, sliced

1 heaping tbsp. either beef or chicken in a mug

Preparation

Fill a large pot 3/4 with water. Add all ingredients. Bring to boil, then simmer for one hour. Keep an eye on the liquid level, and if it gets too low add boiling hot water to it to thin out a bit.
