Ingredients
2 cups reisling wine
1/4 cup sugar
1 cinnamon stick
zest of an orange and a lemon
4 plums, pitted and sliced
2 pears, cored and sliced
1 cup grapes-halved
1 cup kumquats-halved or sm. can mandarin oranges
Or any fresh fruit of your liking
Preparation
Combine wine, sugar, cinnamon, and zest in a small sauce pan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil and reduce to 1/4 cup liquid when strained, about 25 minutes. Discard strained solids Allow this to cool. Toss fruit with reisling syrup. Cover salad and refrigerate no longer than 2 hours.
