Bit less than 1/4 of criollo liquor (or to taste)
Preparation
To make scones:
- Preheat to 425 F
- in a bowl combine all dry ingredients and stir I till incorporated
- then add butter cut in small pieces and break it down until there are no chunks of butter left (should look a bit like breadcrumbs)
- add the remaining liquids and work the dough (try not to overwork)
- create scone shapes by making a round flat pie and cutting it into slices (like pizza)
- brush tops with heavy cream for browning
- place on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 min
Glaze: Throw everything except heavy cream into a sauce pan and melt whisking frequently. Bring to a slow boil and reduce the heat and add the heavy cream Bring to a boil again and let it thicken
Then all that is left to do is to dunk the cooled scones into the glaze…and then enjoy :)
Note: this glaze is sticky and doesn’t harden like a typical confectioners sugar glaze.
