Ingredients
3 cups water
8 tsp yeast
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 1/3 cups canola oil
8 eggs
6 tsp salt
5 lb flour
Preparation
Combine lukewarm water, yeast, sugar, oil, eggs, and half the flour in bowl. Mix with regular cake beater. Add the salt. Switch to dough hook and add remaining flour. Allow to rise for 1 hour. Knead dough again for 1 minute with dough hook. Allow to rise for 1 hour. Braid the challah. If dough sticks, grease hands. Allow to rise for 30 min. Generously brush with egg wash: 1 egg with a little water and 1 tsp sugar. Bake at 350F for approx 25 min.
