Ingredients
10oz golden syrup
9oz salted butter
10oz caster suger
10 oz oats with wheat germ
10oz jumbo oat
3oz flaked Almonds
3oz chopped hazlenuts
3-40z sultanas
half a packet of glace cherries cut in thirds
Preparation
I use baking parchment in a roasting tin,but you still have to take your time peeling it off when you turn the flapjack out.So prepare this first. 1.Melt Syrup,Butter and sugar in a large pan,just bring to simmer then take off heat and add all of the dry ingredients. 2. Mix really thoroughly 3.turn into lined pan and flatten out with back of spoon,should be a couple of cm thick. 4. Put in oven heated to 160 º C 5. Cook for about 20 mins.DO NOT Over cook,should be slightly brown at edges but will still look soft . 6. Cool completely, turn out onto kitchen top and slowly peel off paper.i sometimes find I have to use the back of a knife to hold the mixture together whilst I am peeling.Slice into squares,you made need to push back into shape,especially softer flapjack from middle of tin. This really is softly chewy,NOT hard and crunchy…..Enjoy!
