Ingredients

1 pound spareribs

flour, salt and pepper

2 tablespoons cooking oil

1/4 cup vinegar

1 cup water

1 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

Preparation

Cut ribs into pieces, approximately 2 inches wide. Cut off as much fat as possible. Dredge ribs in flour, salt and pepper mixture and brown in a skillet with the oil.

Mix together the vinegar, brown sugar, water and soy sauce and bring to a boil in a pot on top of the stove.

Place browned ribs in a casserole dish or small roaster and pour the boiled sauce over top. Bake covered for 1 1/2 hours at 350. At the very end, thicken sauce with 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
