Ingredients

2 CUPS FLOUR

2 CUPS SUGAR

1 TSP. BAKING SODA

1 TSP. CINNAMON

1 TSP. VANILLA

2 EGGS

½ CUP BUTTERMILK

2 STICKS BUTTER

½ CUP COCOA

1 CUP WATER

½ CUP COCOA

6 TBSP. WHOLE MILK

1 LB. CONFECTIONERS SUGAR

1 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS

1 TSP. VANILLA

Preparation

CAKE:

PRE-HEAT OVEN TO 375 MIX TOGETHER IN A LARGE BOWL:

2 CUPS FLOUR 2 CUPS SUGAR 1 TSP. BAKING SODA 1 TSP. CINNAMON 1 TSP. VANILLA 2 EGGS ½ CUP BUTTERMILK

BRING FOLLOWING INGREDIENTS TO BOIL:

2 STICKS BUTTER ½ CUP COCOA 1 CUP WATER

COMBINE INTO FLOUR MIXTURE.

SPREAD COMBINED INGREDIENTS EVENLY ACROSS A GREASED, FLOURED COOKIE SHEET.

FROSTING:

WHILE CAKE IS BAKING: MELT ONE STICK UNSALTED BUTTER

ADD TO BUTTER: ½ CUP COCOA 6 TBSP. WHOLE MILK 1 LB. CONFECTIONERS SUGAR

KEEP FROSTING ON LOW HEAT UNTIL MEDIUM RUNNY.

ADD: 1 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS 1 TSP. VANILLA (Test the frosting for doneness: drop a small drop of frosting in cold water. If it forms a ball, it is ready to be used on cake)
