Ingredients

Crust:

1/2c butter

1/2c brown sugar

1c flour

Filling:

1/2 c ground dates

1c brown sugar

1c coarse chopped walnuts

1/2c butter

water

1t vanilla

Topping:

2 eggs well beaten

1c fine sugar

2T flour

1t vanilla

1/2t salt

1c fine chopped walnuts

Preparation

Mix crust ingredients together and pat into 9x13" pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350. Remove and add filling and topping.

Filling: She doesn’t suggest how much water or cornstarch. Boil dates, sugar and butter. Thicken with cornstarch to make a thick pudding consistency. Spread over crust.

Topping: Mix ingredients together and spread over walnut paste mixture.

Bake 25 minutes in 325 oven. Watch it doesn’t get too brown. Let cool and cut into bars.
